Land and Resource Management

The Land & Resources Management Plan describes the community’s vision for the future of Treaty Settlement Lands. The Land & Resources Management Plan allocates land use zones and management objectives that will ensure the community’s vision is achieved and Treaty Settlement Lands are protected and managed for the benefit of present and future generations.

The Land & Resources Management Plan provides guidance for future land and resource use decisions.  Instead of resolving issues on an ad-hoc and reactionary basis, decision makers are now able to move forward with confidence that they have the traditional and technical information they need.  Their decisions will be consistent with the aspirations, needs and concerns expressed by the community.

Kwun ah men (Vision for the Future)

Tla’amin people, through Taow (our teachings), will empower the community to be healthy, self-governing stewards of the land.  With full jurisdiction, we will provide certainty by creating economic and employment opportunities, capacity, and sustainability through knowledge and responsible leadership for future generations.
