Programs and Services Planning

The purpose of the Community Programs and Services Treaty Related was to research how Community Programs and Services will be integrated and delivered after treaty effective date. This 9 month project assessed current program and services gaps, it also allowed for Sliammon to develop, plan and integrate Sliammon Program and Service needs in a post-treaty environment.

An important element of this project was database analysis. In order to meet the needs of Sliammon citizens it is important that the Sliammon government has accurate up to date demographic information. As a part of this TRM the existing band membership lists held at health, treaty, and the band office were brought together and updated to ensure accuracy. This work respected the privacy of Sliammon citizens and followed requirements laid out in the Canadian Privacy Act.
