Forest resources have sustained the Sliammon people for thousands of years, as Sliammon moves into final agreement negotiations, sound forest planning will ensure that as we access more oppportunities economic, cultural, and human resource values will be balanced.

The Sliammon First Nation Highest and Best Use Analysis confirms that forestry opportunities are the main and immediate opportunities that Tla’amin Lands can support. Over the course of 2003 a forestry Treaty Related Measure resulted in five forestry reports: The Forestry Economic Opportunities Study, Forest Practices Report, Skills and Capacity Assessment, Forestry Strategic Plan, and Timber Supply Analysis of Treaty Settlement and Reserve Lands.
